ACCESS STATEMENT

The Old Brick Kilns Caravan Park is set in tranquil countryside in an area of outstanding natural beauty in North Norfolk. Access to the park is gained by leaving the A148 approx 4 and a half miles North of Fakenham and following the signs for Barney and the Caravan Park.

  • On entering the park, all Guests and Visitors are to park opposite the Reception Building in an orderly fashion on the Main Car Park, allowing room for others who may be arriving at the same time. The Car Park has a shingle surface and care must be taken when driving off.
  • Having arrived, we request that all Guests and Visitors report to reception to receive their Welcome Pack, and to be given directions to the location of their pitch. They will also be told of the various facilities which are available to them. The reception/shop is easily accessible from the Main Car Park, the entrance doorway is suitable for a wheelchair.
  • The Park is large and spacious and there are 69 pitches on three levels with wooded areas and grass meadows covering 13 acres in total, Heydons Meadow has 5 Premier Pitches which are for Caravan Club Members only.
  • The Tenting Meadow, which has grass pitches with no electric hook-up, is accessible by car and a gently sloping walkway suitable for wheelchairs (remember this is a grass meadow), and is directly opposite the Restaurant Entrance.
  • There are two tent pitches on the grass in the Lower Field which have electric hook-up should this be required.
  • The Park has three toilet/shower blocks, the largest of these is immediately behind the Reception Area, and has under floor heating in the Shower Area for both Male and Female guests. There is also a Special Needs/Disabled Room complete with grab rails, also a laundry room and Dishwashing Facilities, sloping ramps allow easy access to this toilet block, the doors are 80cm wide.
  • The Restaurant also has fitted ramps and wide doors for wheelchair access, the toilets are accessible through the restaurant area, care must be taken however as there is a small step.
  • The Lower part of the Park has a smaller toilet/shower block, also with Dishwashing facilities, there is one step to enter this building. ALL W/Cs in the park are 43cm high, these are we believe a standard height.
  • A Special Needs/Disabled Room with grab rails is also provided for the use of the Premier Pitches on Heydons Meadow.
  • Access around the park is provided by tarmac roads with 24 pitches being directly linked to the road with shingle driveways. If required there is assistance with pitching on arrival, and you may park your car on the grass beside your caravan or tent if you wish, (this is not permitted when the area is excessively wet).
  • All caravan pitches have shingle hard standing bases with enough room for a caravan and awning.
  • The Guest House has three letting rooms, all on the first floor. This is not therefore suitable for anyone who has a problem with stairs. However there is Kiln Barn which would be suitable, as it is all on the ground floor, as are the three Paddocks Cottages. (See separate sheet for the Paddocks Cottages).
  • The plan of the Park shows the location of the amenities, these are:-
    • The Service points - for water, chemical toilet disposal, dustbins, recycling points and Fire Bells/Extinguishers.
    • The Bottle Bank - situated in the Main Car Park.
In the event of a FIRE or similar Emergency, the Procedures are on display in the Reception Area. The nearest telephone is to the right of the reception door.
    • The Childrens Playground is opposite reception, please note that all children need to be supervised at all times.
    • Telephone numbers for local Taxi service, Doctor, Vet and 24 hour Emergency are all on display in the Tourist Information Centre.
    • Should there be any queries regarding any of the facilities whilst you are staying at The Old Brick Kilns Caravan Park please feel free to contact Reception who will endeavour to answer your questions.

Although we have tried to be as accurate as possible and include as much detail as we can in this statement, we are always willing to pass on information to our guests on any aspect of the Park, in an effort to make your stay with us an enjoyable one
